『音はいのちを、アートする。』
自然には、さまざまな静けさと躍動があります。
水の流れ。
風の動き。
森の呼吸。
土の鼓動。
目に見えない生命の躍動が、私たちにも宿っている。
ねおみいは、自然をモチーフにしながら、人の内側にあるものを描いていきます。
心の奥底に眠る、リズム、 そして、生命力。
音が重なり、響き合い、 心のどこかで何かが開かれていく。
いのちよ、響け。
音はいのちを、アートする。
"Let Life Resonate."
Nature holds many forms of stillness and movement.
The flow of water.
The movement of wind.
The breath of the forest.
The pulse of the earth.
The invisible pulse of life lives within us, too.
neomii draws on nature as a motif, exploring and expressing what lives within us.
The rhythms sleeping deep in the heart.
And the life force within.
As sounds overlap and resonate,
something deep inside begins to open.
Let life resonate.

neomii
Singer-Songwriter / Live Loop Artist
An "Otonoha" artist creating music through voice and traditional instruments.
Layering African kalimba, Asian Karen harp, and her voice in real time, she creates expansive soundscapes from a single performer.
Inspired by nature, she sings original songs in Japanese.
Her music awakens the life force sleeping deep within the human heart.
neomii uses the word "Otonoha" to describe a world where her sound, words, and colors come together as one.
It all began with the title of an old blog she once wrote:
"Otonoha*Kotonoha*Utopia."
"Otonoha" is a playful variation inspired by "Kotonoha" (言の葉), an old Japanese expression for words.
Her voice and the sounds of the kalimba and other folk instruments.
Lyrics woven in Japanese.
And cut-and-paste artwork created through color and form.
Different forms of expression overlap and come together, and neomii's world found its way into the words "Otonoha."
ねおみいの"音の葉"の世界をもっとも表現しているのが、ルーパーを使ったソロスタイル『Otonoha*Landscape』。
カリンバでリズムを重ね、さらにハーモニーを重ね、遊び心の翼に乗り自由に宙を泳ぐ。
一人だからこその自由さで、幾重にも重なり広がる音風景をオーディエンスとともに生み出しています。
Otonoha*Landscape is Neomii's solo live-looping style, where her world of Otonoha comes to life.
Layering kalimba, voice, and harmonies, she rides on the wings of playfulness, freely drifting through sound.
Together with her audience, she creates ever-expanding soundscapes in the moment.
As a child, Neomii loved drawing and making things with her hands.
She was not particularly fond of music class, but everything changed when she heard The Beatles on the radio.
She was captivated by their free, genre-defying music and the world of their lyrics.
At university, she joined a jazz club and began performing as a vocalist.
Around the same time, she was drawn to folk and traditional music, especially the sounds of the African kalimba.
She went on to perform, record, and collaborate with a wide range of musicians, including as vocalist and lyricist for the acoustic unit Tuff Ruff.
Under the name Meron Kaneda, she performed songs featured in the anime series Martian Successor Nadesico and Dream-Colored Crayon Kingdom, and also worked on recordings and live performances with Hiro Tsunoda.
Over time, performing original songs with instruments such as the kalimba and Karen harp became the foundation of her musical expression.
Alongside music, she began creating cut-and-paste artwork, gradually shaping her own world through sound, words, and colors.
Then, in recent years, she discovered the looper—a new way of layering sounds live in the moment.
Another door opened.
